A wide ranging bill dealing with law enforcement passed the Missouri Legislature in its last week. While banning police choke holds got most of the attention, State Senator Jason Bean is concerned about the mandated pay raises for sheriffs.
Bean says he’s always pro-law enforcement, but the mandated raises are going to be hard on rural counties like those in the 25th District.
