Dangerous Wind Chills and Snow in Our Future

The ice storm may be over, but winter weather is going to be a major problem for us until at least midweek. According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, wind chill values will fall into the single digits at times today through Wednesday. Below zero wind chills are possible  Sunday through Tuesday mornings.

There is increasing confidence in a significant winter storm late Sunday into Monday. Significant accumulations of snow, sleet and ice are possible.

Then another round of winter weather is possible Wednesday into Wednesday night.

You want to still be very careful while driving today. The MoDOT traveler’s map shows the major routes in Southeast Missouri are “mostly clear”, but there still could be patches of ice. That includes 412, 25, and Interstates 55 and 155.
