A veteran Kennett Police officer will be laid to rest today with full honors. Major Rick Groves died Friday from complications of COVID-19. Police Chief Kenny Wilson said Groves will be greatly missed.
A full honors funeral is scheduled for this afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the KHS Gym. A procession will follow to Memorial Gardens.
The service today is open to the public. You’re asked to practice social distancing and use of a mask is encouraged.
