No Traffic Fatalities in SE Missouri Over Long Weekend

There were no fatalities on SE Missouri roads during the holiday weekend. According to Troop E, a Rector woman was hurt when her car struck a pickup stopped in traffic on Highway 84 at CR 541 in Dunklin County just before noon Saturday. 25 year old Teresa Lopez received minor injuries and was taken to the hospital in Piggott.

One person was seriously hurt yesterday during the noon hour when his riding mower was struck by a car on Speedway Street in Campbell. According to the MSHP, 70 year old Weldon Wallace was taken by Air Medical to a Memphis hospital.

The driver of the car, 42 year old Richard Benjamin of Campbell, was arrested for felony leaving the scene of an accident and failure to drive on the right half of the road.
