What to Do About Fireworks?

Fireworks was the primary topic of discussion at last night’s Kennett City Council meeting. It was sort of a round-table discussion to check the pulse of council members on what to do about them in 2021. Council members did seem to agree that there needs to be strict enforcement of the city’s ordinance, that limits shooting — June 30-July 3 until 10 p.m. and July 4 until midnight.

That was Ward 1 Councilman Bob Hancock. There was agreement that if the city banned the sale of fireworks, vendors would just move outside the city limits and the city would lose quite a bit of revenue as a result.
