The votes are counted and locally, we have a new state senator. Jason Bean won an often vitriolic race for the 25th District. Bean took just over 46% of the vote over three opponents: Jeff Shawan, Eddy Justice, and Steve Cookson. Bean’s final vote total was 12,789; Shawan took second with 5,761; Justice 4,920; and Cookson’s 4,220.
Andrew McDaniel will get the chance to term out in House District 150. McDaniel defeated former Dunklin County Prosecuting Attorney Jeff McCormick 2,424 to 1,553 – getting almost 61% of the vote.
In Dunklin County, Ron Huber won re-election as First District County Commissioner, getting 1,250 votes to Wes Shelton’s 639.
