We’ve focused here, of course, on the Missouri Senate 25th District race, but there’s another in SE Missouri that getting a lot of attention. You’ve probably seen the social media face off between two veteran Republican state lawmakers tied up in a GOP primary tomorrow hoping to replace term-limited 27th District State Senator Wayne Wallingford. Cape Girardeau State Representative Kathy Swan, who chairs the House Workforce Development Committee, is focusing on education and workforce:
Swan’s primary opponent is Scott City State Representative Holly Rehder, who chairs the House Rules Committee. Rehder says Missouri needs a smaller government:
The 27th district has six counties: Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Madison, Perry, Scott and Wayne. The GOP winner has Democratic competition in November.
