Portageville city aldermen adopted a stay-at-home order yesterday. Among other things, it prohibits any gathering outside a residence or essential business.
It closes non-essential businesses to the extent that business can be conducted with point of sale transactions via telephone or internet and business activities consisting of employees or contractors performing activities at their own residences (i.e., working from home).
The order was renewed from an earlier one that expired on Sunday, April 19. It remains in effect through May 3.
