As the weather begins to warm up, the Missouri Department of Transportation is out in force repairing potholes created over the winter. Around three-hundred crews will focus on repairs, after fixing over seven-hundred-thousand potholes last year on Missouri’s thirty-four-thousand miles of roads, costing taxpayers $17 million dollars.
A transportation spokesman says it’s important to slow down and to properly inflate your tires, as over- and under-inflated tires have a higher tendency to pop when you run over a pothole. If you see a pothole that needs fixed you can contact the Department online or by phone.
