The Dunklin County Library is accepting nominations for the 2018 Dunklin County Hall of Honor. The deadline for submitting nominations is Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018.
To be eligible for consideration, a nominee must be a resident or have been a resident of Dunkin County and must have personal accomplishments and/or achievements in their occupation, trade, profession, or field of endeavor that are considered to have been distinctive, creative, or unique.
Nominations forms for the 208 Hall of Honor are available at each of the Dunklin County Libraries or online at www.dunklin-co.lib.mo.us
“The honorees should have strong ties to the Dunklin County community,” stated Dunklin County Library Director JoNell Minton. “They should also have displayed outstanding personal achievement and contributions to the growth and development of our area. A ceremony is held in each November to honor the efforts of those selected.”
The Dunklin County Hall of Honor committee is composed of members throughout the county. The 2017 Hall of Honor Inductees were Terry Berry, Tony Byrd, Daryl Wilcoxson, and Ken Williams. Some of the past inductees are Billie DeMint, Jr., Narvel Felts, Beverly Alford Thomas, J.D. Faulkner, Ben Cash and many more.
The Hall of Honor is located on the second floor of the Dunklin County Library headquarters in Kennett. Individuals may view the exhibit Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Contact the Dunklin County Library for additional information at 573-888-3561.
