Rotary Big Bird Bingo

On Friday, August 3, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Presbyterian Church Activities Center, Kennett Rotary will host a “Big Bird Bingo” event. Proceeds from the event will go to help Rotary purchase parade costumes, such as Big Bird and Elmo.

Each year, Rotary members participate in the annual Delta Fair Parade in Kennett, and children enjoy receiving candy and connecting to the cartoon character dancing through the street.

Over the years, Rotary has donned such characters as Fred Flintstone and Bugs Bunny, which was the most popular over the years. The suits are old and need to be replaced, so Rotary has decided to raise the funds for them through a community activity that a lot of people enjoy—BINGO.

Kennett Rotary meets each week at D&R McCormick’s, and through their program, they provide support to the community through backpacks to Dunklin County Children’s Division, dictionaries to area schools, scholarships, sponsorships to Missouri Boys State, Missouri Girls State, and more.

Rotarians will be looking for sponsors for the event through product donations for prizes and refreshments or cash donations. For more information call 573-344-3711
