Aaron Murphy
(Vinelink)
Just before noon Sunday, May, 6, Kennett officers were dispatched to First Street in reference to a male and female who appeared to be involved in a domestic disturbance and fighting while walking.
Upon arrival, an officer made contact with the female who by then had separated from the man. Another officer attempted to make contact with him. The male refused to comply with the officer’s instructions and began resisting.
A struggle with the man then ensued however ended shortly thereafter as the officer was assisted by an unidentified passerby. At that point, officers arrested 30-year-old Aaron Murphy, of Kennett, for Resisting Arrest, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and also on an active state of Missouri warrant issued out of Dunklin County.
Murphy was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant as well as on a twenty-four-hour hold pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office for the new charges.
Kennett Police would like to thank the unidentified passerby who stopped and assisted the Kennett police, who subdued the subject.
