According to Chief Paul Sheckell of the Hayti Police Department on Monday January 9, 2016 at 12:06 p.m., Hayti Officers received a report of a missing 15 year old juvenile from Hayti, the reporting party advised that the juvenile had been missing since Friday night January 6, 2017 but not report to the police until Monday afternoon. The missing juvenile was last seen at an apartment complex in Hayti.
Hayti officers opened an investigation into the reported missing juvenile at that time. On Wednesday, January 11, 2017 Hayti officers located the missing juvenile identified as Shamar Holmes deceased at the apartment complex.
Hayti police then contacted the Sheriff’s department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Division of Drug and Crime Control and the Coroners Office to assist in this investigation.
An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday January 12, 2017.
