Oh My! Cardinals Going Overseas For Reliever

Hey guys and girls, Ty back here with another blog post! It actually feels like winter outside so what a better time to talk Cardinal Baseball and heat things up! Word is that the Cardinals are in the midst of making a move we haven’t seen from them in recent history. Pending a physical, the redbirds will bring in a reliever from Korea. His name is Seung-Hwan Oh and “Oh” is exactly what you’ll say at his stat line. How about a 1.81 ERA in 646 1/3 innings. Oh is 33, he is the premiere closer in Korea and he has a gold medal from the 2008 Olympic games. Now to the important part… What do I think about the move?

I love it! Though scary at times, Trevor Rosenthal was a fantastic closer for St. Louis, especially as the season progressed. You’ve got the starting pitching, but how many games did we see slip away because our set up men were gimmick pitchers? How confident will that make a starting pitcher to know all he has to do is throw 7 good innings only to hand the ball off to 2 of the toughest closers in the world for the 8th and 9th frame? It makes my mouth water. Oh will be the perfect set up man in the 8th for Rosenthal to come into the 9th and blow the door shut with some fastballs. Ladies and gentlemen, get excited for another great season of Cardinal baseball. The Cubs are spending all kinds of money this season to get to where they think they need to be, but who has been better than the Cardinals at finding talent? 3 days of true winter is enough, let’s fast forward to spring training!! And oh yeah, welcome to the baseball heaven Mr. Sueng-Hawn Oh!
