The city of Kennett is mourning yet another loss. Captain Robert Moore, who was both firefighter and police officer, died Sunday. He’s served the citizens of Kennett since 1992.

Funeral arrangements for Captain Moore are pending, with Powell Funeral and Cremation Services in charge of the arrangements.

Today, Lt. Craig Moody of the Kennett Police Department will be laid to rest. The service is at 1 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Home, with burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 a.m.

Lt Moody died Wednesday.

Mayor Chancellor Wayne has let us know that out of respect for these outstanding officers and friends, all city committee meetings and tomorrow’s council meeting will be canceled and rescheduled for next week.
