One Person Killed in Holiday Weekend Traffic Accidents

A New Madrid man was killed over the holiday weekend when his pickup ran off a Bollinger County road, struck a tree, and overturned. The MSHP identified the victim as 48 year old Jack Meese. That accident happened just before 7 p.m. Saturday.

One person was hurt Saturday night in a two vehicle traffic accident that happened on CR 470 south of Steele. The HP reports that 71 year old Guy Trimble of Steele was hurt when his vehicle was struck by a car turning left, driven by 21 year old Samaria Clay, also of Steele. Trimble was taken to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

A Blytheville man was hurt Monday morning when the car he was driving ran off the road and struck a ditch. 56 year old Paul Lyell was taken to Great River Medical Center with minor injuries. That accident happened on Route NN just north of Arkansas state line.
