Crude oil has increased to its highest price since October 2018, causing the average price of a gallon of gas across the country to push upward. According to AAA, the average price of gas now is $3.07 — a penny more than last week but almost a dollar more than last year.
AAA spokesperson Jeanette McGee says motorists are paying, on average, 37% more to fill up than the start of the year, and prices are expected to push higher the rest of the month.
The average price of a gallon of gas in Missouri is $2.75; in Arkansas it’s $2.76, and Tennessee’s price is $2.87 a gallon.
