Southeast Missouri Food Bank: Working Hard to Provide in a Pandemic

semo-food-bank-5

The pandemic has put pressure on food banks across the country — that includes the Southeast Missouri Food Bank. Lisa Church says the pandemic created the perfect storm for the food bank as it attempted to meet double and sometimes triple the need in most of the 16 county service area.

Church says the food bank’s approach to the pandemic has been two-fold: increasing distributions to local pantries and providing more mobile distributions.

There’s a mobile food distribution coming up at Jesus Name Tabernacle in Caruthersville tomorrow at 5 p.m. and Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the Senath Community Center.
