The Hayti School District is beginning alternate days of instruction along with virtual learning for grades 7-12 starting Monday. According to Superintendent Jackie Johnson, on Monday and Thursday, girls will attend school on campus, and boys will complete class virtually. It’s the opposite schedule on Tuesday and Fridays.

On Wednesday, all students will be off campus, completing classwork virtually.

According to Johnson, this schedule will continue through the end of the semester.

Elementary students will continue as normal on campus.

Johnson emphasized that student quarantines due to contact tracing, not positive cases of COVID-19, is the primary reason for the schedule change.
