A Hayti man charged in an alleged stabbing incident appeared in court yesterday, 53 year old Michael Winters is charged with first degree assault, armed criminal action and other drug related charges after officers were called early Wednesday morning to Highway 84 near the Travel Center.
Officers were told by the victim that Winters had stabbed her with a sharp pointed object.
Winters waived formal arraignment yesterday and entered a plea of not guilty before Judge William Carter. He will be back in court next week.
Winters is being held with no bond at the PCJC.
