Dog saves woman’s life during fire

BLYTHEVILLE, AR – A German shepherd saved the life of a Blytheville woman during an early morning fire early Monday, August 14 . The woman’s pet woke her up during a fire that began around 3:30 a.m., on West Hardin.
The woman was asleep on the couch as heavy smoke filled the home, when firemen arrived they noticed “heavy fire and smoke” coming from the back of the home at the roof line area, and the homeowner and dog in the front yard.
Firemen were on the scene for about two hours.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
