Corcoran appears in court for motion hearing

Jeremy Corcoran, 37, of Kennett, was in a Butler County Courtroom Tuesday, August 15, where a criminal motion hearing was set for charges of first degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of Andy Tijerina, 23, of Kennett, in February, 2015.

Tuesday’s court appearance is just one of many as the case winds it way through the court system.

Corcoran first appeared in Dunklin County but received a change of venue to Butler County.

The shooting happened in June 2014 at the 500 block of South Hopper Street when the two were having a heated argument.

Corcoran shot Tijerina multiple times in the body with a 9 mm pistol.

According to Missouri CaseNet a criminal motion hearing has been set for September 27, and a pre-trial conference will be held on December 21, on the charge of first degree murder and armed criminal action against Corcoran.

A jury trial has been scheduled for early next year on January 3rd, 4th and 5th.

Tijerina was the stepson of a Kennett police officer.
