The Arkansas State Police reported a fatal crash on I-55 in Blytheville.
On Saturday, August 29th, at 1:10m, the Arkansas State Police responded to a fatal accident involving a pedestrian. The accident occurred near mile marker 67 on I-55 near Blytheville as a 61 year old male pedestrian from Nashville was walking in the southbound lanes of I-55. A 2006 Mercury SUV, driven by a male from Dyersburg, attempted to avoid the pedestrian by moving into the left lane but the pedestrian then moved into the lane as well, where he was struck by the SUV.
The driver of the SUV was injured in the crash. Unfortunately, the pedestrian died from his injuries and his next of kin was notified.
