
The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to multiple fatal accidents in Troop E.
On Saturday, Agusut 1st, the MSHP responded to a multi-vehicle accident in Ripley County, three miles west of Doniphan on US-160. At 7:45am, a 2008 Suzuki SX4, driven by a 40 year old male from Doniphan, struck a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban head on. The driver of the Suburban, a 42 year old male from Doniphan, sustained serious injuries and was air lifted to Regional One Health in Memphis, TN. The driver of the Suzuki suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced at the scene by Ripley County Coroner Michael Jackson at 8:20am. A 50 year old occupant of the Suzuki was transported to Poplar Bluff Regioinal Medical Center, where he was later pronounced at 9:00am. These are Troop E fatalities #32 and #33 for 2026.
On Saturday at 3:30pm, the MSHP responded to a two-vehicle accident in Stoddard County, four miles south of Bell City on Highway Y and Highway N. The accident occurred as a 2004 Toyota Camry, driven by a 61 year male from Benton, failed to yield to a 2022 Ford Escape, driven by a 47 year old female from Advance. The Escape then struck the Camry in the side, causing the Camry to overturn, partially ejecting an occupant. Four juveniles, ages 10-15, and three adults, ages 40, 47 and 60, received moderate injuries and were transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. A 61 year old male from Benton received serious injuries was air lifted to Regional One Health in Memphis. A 53 year old occupant, that was partially ejected from the Camry, was pronounced at the scene by Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham at 4:19pm. This is Troop E fatality #34 for 2026.
