The Caruthersville Police Department is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 1301 Ward Avenue.
Officers responded to the location after receiving a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an individual suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds.
Officers immediately began providing lifesaving measures until emergency medical personnel arrived and continued treatment. Despite those efforts, the victim, identified as 33-year-old Adrian Hunt of Caruthersville, was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.
The Caruthersville Police Department, with assistance from the Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC), is investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. To protect the integrity of the investigation, no additional details are being released at this time.
