The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a drowning in Ripley County, seven miles north of Doniphan on Current River.
The incident happened around 7:41pm on Sunday evening as a 32 year old male from Poplar Bluff was swimming downstream in Current River. He submerged under the water and did not resurface. The individual was later pronounced at the scene by Ripley County Coroner Michael Jackson at 8:54pm.
