Two Fatal Accidents in Troop E over the Weekend

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a serious accident in Troop E on Friday.

The crash occurred at 3:35pm in Scott County, at the 86.4 Mile Marker on I-55 Southbound. The accident happened as a Volvo Tractor Trailer, operated by a 60 year old male from Willis, Texas, ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a guardrail and a bridge, then went airborne and struck an embankment. The driver was pronounced at the scene by Scott County Deputy Coroner Shane Washburn at 5:20pm. This is Troop E fatality #28 for 2026.

On Saturday, July 4th, the MSHP responded to a serious accident in Ripley County, on MO-21, ten miles north of Doniphan. The crash occurred at 4:05pm as a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 45 year old female from Doniphan, ran off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned. The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced at the scene by Ripley County Coroner Mike Jackson at 5:00pm. This is Troop E Fatality #29 for 2026.
