The MSHP worked a single vehicle accident on Saturday, August 20th at 9:00pm in New Madrid County. The crash occurred on a farm road, one mile east of Clarkton as a 2021 Kawasaki KLX 300 dirt bike, operated by a 52 year old male from Clarkton, traveled off a dead end roadway and into a ditch. Unfortunately, the driver was pronounced at the scene by New Madrid County Coroner George Delisle. This is Troop E fatality #39 for 2025.
On Sunday, August 31st, at approximately 6:23pm, the MSHP Boating Division responded to the Black River at Ray Clinton Park in Poplar Bluff for a subject observed floating in the river. The subject, a 47 year old male from Portageville, was pronounced by Butler County Coroner Jim Akers as having drowned. This is Troop E drowning #2 for 2025.
