Steele Chief of Police Billy Joe Stanfield reports on July 1st, 2025, Captain John R. Trimm was investigating allegations of a threat, when he made contact with the suspect. The suspect then fled from Captain Trimm. A pistol was subsequently recovered along with its magazine and several rounds of ammunition. During the investigation, it was learned the pistol had recently been reported stolen from a location in Steele. The suspect was identified but is still being sought by law enforcement.
