Sikeston Man Sentenced to Federal Prison

CAPE GIRARDEAU  –  A Sikeston man was sentenced to federal prison Monday. The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that 30 year old Cameron Melton Malone  was sentenced Monday in federal court in Cape Girardeau to serve 125 months for felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

At a guilty plea hearing in December, Malone admitted that on June 12, 2022, he attempted to flee from law enforcement officers in Sikeston after an officer attempted a traffic stop. After he was apprehended, Malone’s vehicle was searched, and a quantity of marijuana, packaged for sale, and a loaded AR-15 semi-automatic rifle were seized from the vehicle.
