Woman identified who reportedly jumped from moving ambulance

PARAGOULD, AR – The woman who reportedly jumped from a moving ambulance in Searcy, Ar., has been identified as 24-year-old Kelsey Cox of Paragould.

Arkansas State Police Public Information Officer Bill Sadler, said earlier Monday that the woman jumped from the ambulance near the 45-mile marker on Highway 67, while being taken to Little Rock.

Personnel with Arkansas Emergency Transport Ambulance were taking the woman from Paragould to a Little Rock mental health facility, Sadler said.

Kelsey Coxs’ mother said her daughter battled mental illness and had been in and out of short-term mental health facilities over 100 times and was released nearly two weeks ago.

Arkansas State Police are still investigating the death.
