Icy Roads Lead to Multiple Wrecks Thursday

There were multiple traffic accidents yesterday in the area due to the icy road conditions. A one vehicle accident on US 412 two miles west of Cardwell at 8:35 a.m. left two people hurt. Troop E reports the accident happened when a SUV driven by 52 year old Karen Clark of Paragould ran off the road and overturned.

Clark and 56 year old Karen Bailey, also of Paragould, were hurt and taken to Arkansas Methodist Hospital.

A Senath man was hurt just before noon hour when the trailer of a Freightliner struck his truck on ice covered US 412 at Senath. The HP reports 69 year old Charles Tune received moderate injuries and was taken to the Arkansas Methodist Hospital.

There were multiple wrecks on I-55 in New Madrid and Pemiscot counties yesterday. Various sections of the interstate were shut down through the day.
