The following news release was given to Hometown News by Main Street Health Ventures late Tuesday. We are providing it below as it was sent with no editing.

Mainstreet Health Ventures, LLC, the developer of the proposed “Kennett Hospital Revitalization Project” to re-establish a Primary Care Hospital in the City of Kennett, has announced it received favorable approval from the Missouri Health Facilities Review Committee at the November 8, 2021 CON Review Hearing for a “6 month extension” of its “Certificate of Need” #5795 and, in addition, announced it has entered into a “Letter of Intent” for the proposed sale of the former TRRMC Hospital Property and the associated Certificate of Need #5795 to United Community Health Group, LLC based out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In a statement released today, Monica Tulley, Chief Financial Officer of Mainstreet HealthVentures, LLC stated: “Due to the many challenges faced by Mainstreet HealthVentures in moving forward with the Hospital Development Project, and in coordination with the desires of Mayor Chancellor Wayne, we have determined it in the best interest of the City of Kennett and the surrounding region that we give consideration to a possible divesture of the Hospital Property and the associated Certificate of Need.”

Notified of this action, Mayor Chancellor Wayne stated “I was excited to hear that the CON was extended and even more excited to learn that a “Healthcare” Company has expressed interest in possible acquisition of the Hospital Property and potential transfer of the current Certificate of Need. Even though the City of Kennett has been in talks to acquire the hospital property and CON, I feel this new endeavor will be a faster way in bringing a new hospital to Kennett.  Thank you to Billionaire Funding Group, Mainstreet Health Ventures and Mr. Stan Morris for working diligently thru the adversity and for not giving up on the City of Kennett.”

The first step in this process was to attain the “6 month CON Extension” in order to allow sufficient time to reach final agreement for presentation to the Missouri Facilities Review Committee for its review and approval as related to the transfer of the existing Certificate of Need.  More specific details surrounding this potential transaction will be communicated as it becomes available.

A spokesperson for United Community Health Group commented: “We are excited to work with the Community to bring innovative and state of the art healthcare to Kennett, Missouri.”
