There’s a little more to report on a story that we first aired Thursday, March 15, on Hometown News Kennett police arrested 17-year-old Cody James Ragland after a woman reported that he had sexually assaulted her daughter last weekend.
She discovered the assault while giving the child a bath.
Police took Ragland into custody for questioning.
During an interview at the Dunklin County Justice Center, where he was read his Miranda rights, Ragland reportedly said the alleged incident occurred on Sunday night.
Ragland is being charged as an adult with statutory sodomy/attempted statutory sodomy of a person less than 14 years of age.
He’s being held in the Dunklin County Jail on a $75,000 cash-only bond.
