Winter Storm Warning

A strong cold front has moved through the region and a potent storm system will move across the Mid-South today. Rain, freezing rain and sleet will transition snow as cold air filters into the Mid-South. Snow is expected to taper off this afternoon. Significant snow and ice accumulations will be possible across much of the region. In addition, strong northwest winds will occur as the much colder air filters into the region.

* WHAT – Heavy mixed precipitation occurring. Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute. Additional sleet and snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of less than one tenth of an inch are expected.

* WHERE – Portions of East Arkansas and Southeast Missouri.

* WHEN – Until noon today.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS – Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.
