Steele Police makes several arrests

On September 16th Steele Police responded to the Still Gin with report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival officers made contact with the owner of the gin whom had the alleged burglar detained. Officers arrested the man who was identified as being 54-year-old Lanny Grubbs of Steele; at the time of Grubbs arrest officers found him being in possession of a glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine. Captain Randy Trimm filed a report with the Pemiscot County Prosecuting Attorney and a warrant was subsequently issued charging Grubbs with 1st degree burglary with bond set at $50,000. Additional charges of possession of a controlled substance has also been filed against Grubbs. Arresting Officer: Trimm

On September 16th Lola Narvaek of Missouri Street reported to police that someone had stolen her car; Narvaek told officers that she had loaned her car to a couple but the man and woman never returned with the car. Police are currently seeking the individuals responsible of stealing the motor vehicle.

On September 18th Steele Police responded to the Family Dollar Store in reference to a shoplifter; upon arrival officers arrested a 52-year-old woman of Steele on charges of shoplifting. The suspect was taken to the police department where she was processed and later released by summons to appear in Steele Municipal Court. Arresting Officer: Trimm

On September 18th Steele Police responded to the Dollar General Store in reference to a shoplifter; upon arrival officers arrested a 50-year-old woman from Steele charging her with shoplifting. The suspect was processed and then taken to the Pemiscot County Jail where she was incarcerated. Arresting Officer: Carter
