Steele Police Makes Several Arrest

On June 21, 2017 Steele Police arrested 36-year-old Frederick Brooks of Joiner AR on an active Steele Municipal warrant charging him with failure to appear; Brooks was taken to the police department where he was processed and then transported to the Pemiscot County Jail where he was incarcerated in lieu of a $488.55 bond. On June 21, 2017 Steele Police arrested 49-year-old Jannie Pickings of Steele on an active Pemiscot County warrant charging her with 1st degree property damage and 2nd degree property damage (bond $20,000). Jannie Pickings was taken to the Pemiscot County Jail. Arresting officer: Trimm

On June 22, 2017 Steele Police arrested 32-year-old Idell Mooney of Steele on an active Pemiscot County parole violation warrant (no bond). Mooney was taken to the Pemiscot County Jail. Arresting officer: Carter

On June 22, 2017 Steele Police recovered a stolen motorcycle; the 1999 Honda was reported stolen out of Savannah TN. Investigation continuing,

On June 24, 2017 Steele Police made contact with a suspicious acting man walking on North Walnut Street; during the contact officers found the 31-year-old man from Steele being in possession of a glass pipe that is commonly used in smoking methamphetamine; also found and seized was a small baggie containing suspected methamphetamine (field tested positive for meth). The 31-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and taken to the Pemiscot County Jail. Arresting officer: Reynolds

On June 24, 2017 Steele Police received a report of a man driving a white Ford Crown Victoria nearly running over a woman on Missouri Street and the same vehicle was reported to have been driving erratically near Pecan Acres. Officer Josh Carter located the suspect vehicle on Barger Street and attempted to conduct a traffic stop but the driver refused to stop; Officer Carter pursued the car to State Street where it pulled into a driveway at a residence. Contact was made with the driver who was identified being 28-year-old Antoine Mayberry of Steele; whom began making verbal threats toward the officer – threatening to physically harm the officer. Officer Carter attempted to arrest Mayberry who resisted arrest and Officer Carter then deployed his taser on Mayberry. Antoine Mayberry was then taken into custody and transported to the police department where he continued to threaten the officer. Antoine Mayberry was taken to the Pemiscot County Jail where he was incarcerated. A warrant was subsequently issued on Mayberry charging him with assault 1st degree (bond $50,000 cash only). On June 25, 2017 31-year-old Linda Mohr of Piggott AR was arrested on a Pemiscot County warrant charging her with failure to appear (bond $116.50). Linda Mohr was taken to the Pemiscot County Jail. Arresting officer: Trimm
